Julia Macdonald is an assistant professor of International Relations at the University of Denver’s Korbel School of International Studies. Her research focuses on state threat assessments, use of force decisions, and U.S. military strategy and effectiveness. She is working on a book about the intersection of coercive diplomacy and foreign policy decision-making and the importance of leadership beliefs in assessments of threat credibility during international crises During her year with CAP, she’ll be studying public opinion about the use of drones in warfare.
David Coppini is an assistant professor in the Media, Film and Journalism Studies Department. He received his doctorate from the School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. His research focuses on media effects on political attitudes and behaviors, as well as on ways to reduce stereotypes in political and health contexts. During his year with CAP, he’ll be examining rural and urban attitudes and polarization.
