C+V Update – Evolve Pathway
In academic year 19-20, DU is going to take a careful look at the community’s current values as stated on DU’s Mission, Vision, Values and Goals webpage: Excellence, Innovation, Engagement, Integrity and Inclusiveness.
By examining, exploring, and articulating the current and aspirational values and behaviors of our community with various groups throughout the year, the DU community will co-create an agreed upon set of values.
The end result could look like: an affirmation of some or all of the current values and/or new values. Through the co-creation process, we will have articulated definitions, examples, and behaviors that provide texture to what DU means when we state our values.
The articulation of our values will allow us to boldly state who we are, what we stand for and why. Further, they will inform our decisions, drive our behavior and be a common foundation for our work on campus and off.
We plan on hosting design-thinking workshops, attending regularly occurring meetings and more to engage our community – from current students and alumni, to faculty and staff, to parents and Board of Trustee members – in robust conversation. The next step is to form a working group for the Evolve pathway and a team of facilitators who will help shape the plan for how to co-create our values.
