(e)Portfolio Initiative
The nationally recognized (e)portfolio pilot, funded by DU IMPACT 2025, helps students make connections between their diverse DU experiences—and translate those takeaways to their careers. The (e)Portfolio reflective curriculum guides students towards making meaningful connections across their experiences (academic, co-curricular and community) and helps them develop critical thinking and reflective engagement skills.
Over the last two years, we have piloted the program by:
- Training and working with 23 FSEM faculty and 5 ASEM faculty who then implemented the curriculum into their courses;
- Designing an ASEM specifically around creating an ePortfolio;
- Designing a 2-credit ePortfolio course on learning for first and second year students;
- Creating a faculty learning community with the cohorts from the FSEM and ASEM faculty.
We know from our data that students desire more intentional moments to be reflective in order to make sense of things; specifically, students seek a space “to recall and analyze past experiences, beliefs, and circumstances, both introspectively and extrospectively, so as to engage in a process of continuous learning and move forward with intent.”
This year we are continuing to work with FSEM and ASEM faculty to further scale and refine the program.
